Torrevieja starts 2026 with a total of 110,500 people registered on the municipal census, an increase of 4,150 inhabitants compared to January 2025, when 106,350 residents were recorded. These figures come from official municipal census data, finalized on January 7, 2026.

This rise continues the upward trend of recent years and confirms Torrevieja as one of the municipalities with the strongest demographic weight in the Valencian Community.

Balance between men and women
The population is made up of 54,548 men (49.36%) and 55,952 women (50.64%), a distribution very similar to that of the previous year. This stability shows that population growth is structural and sustained over time.

Significant increase in foreign residents
Residents with Spanish nationality have risen from 50,960 to 51,295 people, an increase of 335. However, the most notable growth comes from the foreign population, which climbs from 55,390 to 59,205—3,815 more residents in just one year.

At the beginning of 2026, Torrevieja is home to citizens from 123 different countries across five continents, reinforcing its image as an international, multicultural city in constant transformation.

Ukraine leads foreign population growth
The largest increase is seen among the Ukrainian community, which grows from 9,512 to 10,074 residents, adding 562 new registrants and remaining the municipality’s most numerous foreign nationality.

Other notable changes by country of origin:

• Russia: slight decrease from 5,926 to 5,746

• Colombia: increase from 5,141 to 5,550

• United Kingdom: small decline from 4,708 to 4,643

• Morocco: significant rise from 2,961 to 3,525

European presence remains strong
Communities from Central and Northern Europe show continued, moderate growth:
