Torrevieja Could Become the Host of MasterChef Kitchens in 2026
The city of Torrevieja is emerging as a potential candidate to host the kitchens of the MasterChef program in 2026, an opportunity that would bring significant international exposure to the municipality, as the format is broadcast in over 200 countries and has been adapted in more than 50 regions.
Meeting at FITUR to Discuss Program Filming
The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, together with the Councilor for Tourism and Hospitality, Rosario Martínez, held a working meeting with the production company Shine Iberia, responsible for MasterChef and Maestros de la Costura, to evaluate the possibility of filming one of their episodes in the city.
The meeting took place during the first day of FITUR, where the municipal team presented various locations in the city that could host the show’s renowned kitchens and serve as settings for the different culinary challenges.
Media Impact and Tourism Promotion
Filming the program in Torrevieja would generate substantial media exposure, as it is one of the most-watched television formats nationally. The presence of the MasterChef team would allow the city to showcase its local identity, urban and natural surroundings, as well as its tourism and culinary potential, to millions of viewers on national television.
The City Council values very positively that Torrevieja is among the options being considered by the production company. Councilor Rosario Martínez highlighted that this initiative is part of the municipal strategy to promote local gastronomy and support the hospitality sector, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Torrevieja Hospitality Association.
This initiative is part of a series of promotional actions carried out by the City Council at FITUR, aimed at positioning Torrevieja as an attractive, competitive destination capable of hosting major audiovisual productions and events at both national and international levels.
