Enjoy Christmas in Torrevieja with a Special Program for the Whole Family
The Councilor for Festivities, Commerce, Hospitality, and Tourism of Torrevieja, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, alongside the Councilor for Youth, Domingo Paredes, and the Commerce Technician, Daniel Amores, has announced in a press conference an extensive Christmas program full of fun, dynamism, and activities for all audiences.
Among the initiatives, the 20th Christmas Window Dressing Contest stands out, with over 30 businesses participating by decorating their establishments with festive themes.
A total of nearly 40 activities have been organized, including educational, cultural, and entertainment proposals for children, teenagers, and adults. The activities will begin tomorrow, Thursday, December 14, and will run through Friday, January 5, concluding with the traditional Three Kings Parade.
MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE 2024 CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
- Santa's Cottage (December 22 and 24): Available in both Torrevieja and La Mata, where children can hand-deliver their letters and enjoy sweets, entertainment, and other surprises.
- Grand Santa Claus Parade (December 23): Starting at 6:30 PM, this event will feature stories of snowmen, unicorns, fairies, and elves, along with Santa Claus himself. The parade will begin at the Virgen del Carmen Cultural Center and end at Concepción Street.
- Ice Rink Opening and Christmas Market (December 26): At 11:00 AM in Plaza Encarnación Puchol in La Mata, a synthetic ice rink and a Christmas market will open to the public. Admission is free, and it will remain open until January 1.
- Mojinos Escozíos Concert (December 28): At 10:30 PM, the Plaza de la Constitución will host this eagerly awaited musical performance.
- San Silvestre Races (December 30): In the morning, the children's version will take place in La Mata, with prizes for all participants. In the evening, the San Silvestre Nocturna Puerto de Torrevieja race, organized by the Department of Sports, will be held in Torrevieja's urban center.
- New Year's Eve Celebration (December 31): At 12:00 PM, children can enjoy the Kids’ New Year’s Eve party at Plaza de la Constitución. At midnight, the traditional toast with grapes will take place.
- Royal Camp (January 3 and 4): The Three Kings of the Orient will collect children's letters at the door of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Torrevieja and in Plaza Encarnación Puchol in La Mata, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
- Three Kings Parade (January 5): This highly anticipated event will begin at 5:30 PM, putting the final touch on the Christmas festivities.
A Commitment to the City and Local Commerce
Rosario Martínez highlighted that this is the most comprehensive program organized to date, designed to cater to all audiences and emphasize the importance of local commerce as a key economic and social driver in Torrevieja. Additionally, the City Council aims to strengthen tourism during this season, ensuring that both residents and visitors enjoy and look forward to celebrating Christmas in Torrevieja every year.
