Repaving and Repairs on Torrevieja’s Dique de Levante
On Monday, November 4, access to the elevated platform of the Dique de Levante was closed, and it will remain off-limits until the completion of works in July 2025. Sandra Sánchez, the Councilor for Urban Services at the Torrevieja City Council, reported that Monday, November 4, access to the elevated platform of the Dique de Levante has been closed, prohibiting use until the works are completed in July 2025.
Sánchez also noted that to proceed with repaving and repair work on the dyke without impacting the operations of both the Marinas Salinas Marina and the Fishermen's Wharf, vehicle and pedestrian access will be permitted along the lower part of the dyke and circulation road, up to the entrance to Marina Salinas.
Furthermore, the parking area beneath the walkway will be gradually fenced off to secure the work area and prevent pedestrian access as the works progress. Finally, Sánchez mentioned that coordination has been established with the Animal Protection Council to allow authorized feeders access to the cat colonies located along the Dique de Levante.
