Torrevieja Boosts Its Economy with the Municipal Cooperation Fund for Tourist Municipalities
This financial support, amounting to €200,570.15, will enable the development of various projects that will enhance the quality of life for citizens and the experience for visitors.
The Councilor for Tourism and Productive Sectors, Rosario Martínez Chazarra, has announced that the Torrevieja City Council has received an allocation from the Municipal Cooperation Fund of the Valencian Community for Tourist Municipalities, aimed at strengthening the city’s infrastructure and services. This financial assistance will allow for the implementation of several initiatives that will benefit both residents and tourists.
The Municipal Cooperation Fund for Tourist Municipalities is an initiative from the Presidency of the Valencian Generalitat, aimed at promoting sustainable development and improving services in areas with high tourist traffic.
Torrevieja, recognized on December 15, 2022, as a municipality of tourist excellence in the Valencian Community, benefits from this investment, whose main objective is to compensate for the extraordinary expenses faced by these municipalities in providing services to non-resident populations. Both the cost and the impact of these services are crucial for the sustainable development of the area.
The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has expressed his satisfaction with this allocation: “This support is a recognition of the effort made to position Torrevieja as a top-tier tourist destination. The funds will allow us to implement projects that will not only benefit our visitors but also improve the quality of life for our neighbors, as well as boost tourism during the low season.”
These initiatives will not only support the sustainability of the environment but also create jobs and stimulate the local economy.
The Torrevieja City Council thanks the President of the Valencian Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and the Councilor for Tourism, Nuria Montes, for their continuous support, and reaffirms its commitment to work for the benefit of the community and all those who choose our city as their tourist destination.
